SCOPE Nepal Activities:
- SCOPE Nepal in coordination with the CCRI organized a discussion program with different experts on “Right to Information on disaster” on 24th of August 2013. The discussion was focused on the importance of disseminating information to the public before, during and after the disaster.
- Initiated an Anti-plastic Campaign in Kathmandu and distribution of Eco bag at specific spots in the Capital city. With the increase in use of plastic bag several problems are unfolding these days like blockage of drainage, water and soil pollution, decreases in the beauty of city. So, in order to aware the public on these problems, SCOPE Nepal with the coordination of Kathmandu Metropolitan City started an anti plastic campaign. Also printed the eco bags with important messages and emergency phone numbers like of police (100), Traffic (103), etc. In coordination with the metro police this numbers are included on the bag for public awareness and as an emergency preparedness.
- As a Quarterly series SCOPE Nepal starts the publication of UPDATE, which includes different articles, News etc. Articles by different scholars and experts are published monthly along with other news and views on Environment, Peace and Social Justice.
- SCOPE Nepal has supported, so far, in voter education programme, right to play for children programme in coordination with Global Network for Rights and Development (GNRD, Norway), relief program for earthquake victims in coordination with GNRD and local partners, environmental protection (anti-plastic campaign in Kathmandu), library installation in remote schools (Darchula and Bajhang district), RTI awareness on disaster response system (with Nepal Police), mobile health camps among others.
